What is Alpha?
Unpack the big questions together.
Alpha is a series of evenings where people from every background get together to explore life, faith and meaning in a relaxed, friendly setting. It runs in churches, cafés and living rooms all over the world — millions of people have tried it.
Every week looks the same: you eat, you watch a short film that opens up one big question, and then you talk about it in a small group. That's it. There's no homework, and nobody's keeping score.

A 25-minute film that opens up one big question: Is there more to life than this? Who is Jesus? Why pray?

Your small group, same faces every week. Say what you actually think. Disagree. Ask the awkward question.

- Friday February 26 is our "Come & See" night — a full evening with no commitment. Decide afterwards.

Do I need to be Catholic — or religious at all?
No. Alpha is for anyone who's curious: people of any faith or none, lapsed Catholics, the sceptical, the searching. It's hosted by our parish, but it isn't a class in being Catholic. Bring your questions.
Will I be put on the spot?
Never. You can say as much or as little as you like. Nobody will ask you to read, pray, or answer anything you'd rather not. Plenty of people just listen for the first few weeks.
What does it cost?
Nothing. No strings attached.
Do I have to commit to all ten weeks?
Come to the first night on Friday February 26 and see what you think. If it isn't for you, no hard feelings. If you miss a week later on, just come back the next — every session stands on its own.
Is there childcare?
We're planning childcare for the winter course. Mention it when you register, with your children's ages, so we can plan for them.
Can I bring someone?
Please do. The registration form has a spot for a companion's name so you're seated together.
